Chocolate Chip Almond Cake

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 & 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 & 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup (about 4 ounces) almond paste, crumbled
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 6 large eggs
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease/spray a 12-cup Bundt pan.
Combine flour, paking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl, and set aside.
Beat butter until creamy. Add sugar, almond paste, and almond extract, and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream. Add chocolate chips. Pour into pan and bake for about an hour and 15 minutes or until done. Cool in pan for about 15 minutes. Then, remove from pan onto wire rack and cool completely.

Amaretto Glaze

  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 4 teaspoons amaretto
Combine sugar and amaretto. Add more amaretto as needed for desired consistency. Drizzle over cake.
