I've been re-visiting some of my favorite cookbooks lately. I don't have a vast collection, but it's large enough that some get a little lost occasionally. The positive side to that is that when you find a formerly lost one, it's a bit like getting a new cookbook... for free! I happened upon this recipe while re-discovering The Buttercup Bakeshop Cookbook. Of course, it had me at peanut butter. Then, I read the description that stated that these are a favorite at the bakery. With that kind of endorsement, I started rounding up ingredients. Luckily, these are all ingredients that most of us probably have in our pantries all the time.

That's always a good time to catch up on celebrity gossip and alien abductions. Amidst the usual impulse-buy fodder, my eye was drawn to Paula Deen's Chocolate Celebration. Of course, my love of chocolate is no secret. My admiration of Paula Deen isn't either. How can you love decadent desserts and not be a fan? So, into the cart it went. My first pass through the magazine yielded quite a few recipes I wanted to try.

I used to want all of those comprehensive books, the ones that covered how to make everything from appetizers to dessert. Now, I seem to be drawn to the more specific ones. Of course, I buy general baking books, which I suppose are specific themselves. But, I like those books dedicated to something even more specific. I figure that if someone decides to narrow their topic that much, then they will probably know a lot about it. Carole Walter has written several cookbooks on specific subjects. I have a few of hers, including Great Cookies, which is the source of the recipe for these cookies. With all the tempting recipes, it was hard to pick just one. So, why this one? Look at that title. How could I not make these?
