Peanut Butter Cookie Bars

I didn’t really plan on making these bars. But, they just kind of happened.

I made a huge mistake. The last time I ordered from Nuts.com, I somehow reasoned that it would be a great idea to order a bag of peanut butter M&Ms. Have you tried these? I’m generally just a peanut M&Ms kind of girl, but good heavens!

Best of Bake or Break: 2012

2012 was a very different kind of year for me and for BoB. First and foremost, it was my first full year of full-time baking and blogging. That has been a huge yet welcomed change! I’m so grateful for being able to do what makes me happy.

With all that time dedicated to this blog, I shared over 100 recipes with you in 2012. And, there are a lot more of you to share with these days. Spiced Pear Cake

On Christmas Eve, I was gathering everything we needed to make our big dinner when suddenly I realized that I hadn’t planned a dessert. Really?!?

I’ve been in heavy baking mode this month, but I had neglected to think of something special for Christmas. Sure, I had some leftover Deep-Dish Pecan Pie, but such an occasion warrants its own dessert. So, we made a trip to our neighborhood market to peruse the possibilities. Some ingredients procured and my fingers crossed, I whipped up this cake.

Deep-Dish Pecan Pie

Long before I’d even considered starting this blog, I used to make this pie for the holidays when I wanted a break from traditional pecan pie.

While at its heart, this is more traditional than not, this pie has a couple of interesting things going for it. First of all, it has a buttery, cream cheese-y crust. Secondly, for those of you who love that gooey filling of pecan pies, there’s more of it than usual in this beauty.
