I happened upon this recipe as I was looking for something quick and easy for Sunday breakfast. I was wanting cinnamon rolls, but, alas, I couldn’t turn back time and prepare them Saturday night. Anyway, I was intrigued by making scones. I’m pretty sure this is my first foray into scone making.
I must admit that I didn’t toast the pecans. Basically, I forgot. It worked, though. Also, for the glaze, I used milk instead of orange juice. I contemplated making both so I could try them both ways, but we didn’t have any orange juice. Okay, I’ll go ahead and throw in this confession, too. I forgot to make the glaze altogether. We took one bite, and Quinn asked, “Wasn’t there supposed to be a glaze?” Luckily, it’s a quick one to whip together. It really does change the taste, too.
Do yourself a favor. Make these as soon as is humanly possible. Seriously, they are that good. The oats and cinnamon and vanilla and pecans all just come together into one of the best things I’ve had for breakfast in a very long time.

I just made these and they are awwwwsome!!! I’ve put some in the freezer raw and will see how they bake up after being frozen.
