Hazelnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

These delicious cookies are described in this Bake or Break post.  Recipe adapted from Chocolate.

  • 12 tablespoons (1 & 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Frangelico
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 & 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup hazelnuts, toasted and coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups (12 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Beat the softened butter and brown sugar, then add and beat the Frangelico (original recipe called for rum), egg and egg yolk.Mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt and stir into the butter and sugar mixture. Blend in hazelnuts and chocolate chips.

Drop batter (1-2 teaspoons each) onto lined pans (parchment paper or Silpat work well) and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on the baking pans and enjoy!
