When everyone is clamoring about apple season, I’m the one ogling the pears. As much as I like baking with apples, I prefer the subtlety of pears. Once I get my first ones and start baking, I know fall has officially arrived.
If you could somehow take all the awesome parts of fall and condense them into a muffin, you’d have yourself one of these gems. Pears and pecans and cinnamon make for a pretty perfect combination. These muffins are simple yet tasty, soft yet sturdy.

I don’t often buy store-bought cookies. All the homemade stuff makes that unnecessary. After we moved last month, however, I stayed out of the kitchen until we could get settled into the new place. During those days, I discovered Brooklyn’s own The Good Batch at a local market.

Happy Friday! This week has gone so quickly! My days have been filled with lots of baking and playoff baseball. Those are some pretty perfect fall days to me.

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve all had a fabulous week. Quinn and I have been all go for the last month or so, and we plan to be amazingly lazy this weekend. So. Excited.
This week, I came across this article at The Daily Meal that lists the most searched-for recipes in America this year. What is it about lists that fascinates us so? Anyway, as several of these are baking recipes, I thought I’d take a little different route on my Friday post and share my favorites for those of you on the great hunt for these recipes.
