Weekly Mix

We did it! We made it through August! And, with September, fall will (thankfully) be here soon. As we’re in moving mode, all of our fall clothes have been packed, but I can’t wait to get them out and be able to wear them. Oh, how I long for scarf weather!

Biscoff Cupcakes

A few weeks ago, I bought a jar of Biscoff Spread with no real plans for it. For those of you unfamiliar with the product, it’s a spread made from those Biscoff cookies eaten by anyone who has ever flown Delta.

Quinn loves those Biscoff cookies so much that I usually just give him my pack and go for the peanuts instead. Still, there’s no denying their deliciousness. Their caramel-y, cinnamon-y flavor is a true winner.

Browned Butter Salted Chocolate Chip Cookies

After 6+ years of baking and blogging, sometimes I think I’ve covered all the baking bases. Then, I realize that I’ve inexplicably ignored something so delicious that I set out to rectify that as soon as possible.

That’s the case with browned butter. How have I never done this? If you’re not familiar with the concept, browning butter creates a rich, nutty, amazing taste that is pretty hard to beat. It’s fairly simple to make browned butter. All you need is a saucepan, a spoon, and some butter.

Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread

Ah, banana bread. I feel bad for it sometimes. As much as I like it, it’s usually an afterthought. I never plan to make it. It’s only when I spot overripe bananas that I start contemplating what to bake with them.

For a little variety this time around, I went with the banana-chocolate combo. This bread is quite generous in the chocolate department.

Monster Brownies

Monster Brownies are my new love. The idea is to pack as much flavor into these brownies as possible. You can pick just one or two add-ins, but I love the idea of using whatever you have on hand.

These are a great way to use up that little bit of chocolate or candy you have on hand. You never have to make these the same way twice!
