Finally, the time has come to see the best the food blogging community had to offer in the month of September. I received over one hundred lovely entries. There are so many beautiful pictures and talented bloggers out there!
Before we get to the winners, though, let me tell you a bit about the five judges. Two of our distinguished judges come from fantastic food blogs themselves: Deb from Smitten Kitchen and Rachel from Coconut and Lime. The third judge is the always helpful Jody from A Cook’s Place, our local shopping spot for cooks. Next, is my dear friend Tonya, who is not a food blogger or even a blogger. She does, however, very much love to cook and eat. Plus, she has many years of experience in judging, usually piano competitions. Last, but not least, is my other half, Quinn. He is definitely the better photographer in this family. I refer to him as this blog’s Director of Photography. I know this has been quite a task for all of them. Watching over Quinn’s shoulder as he judged certainly convinced me of that. Thanks so much to all of you for your help!
Three winners come from each of the three categories: edibility, originality, and aesthetics.
The edibility winner is Helen from Tartelette with Pistachio and Cranberries Sticky Buns.

The originality winner is Suganya at Tasty Palettes with Soba Noodles.

The aesthetics winner is Sophie at Mostly Eating with Aubergine.

In overall scoring, the third place winner is Mandy at Fresh from the Oven with her Nutella Tart.

Second place is Nicisme at Cherrapeno with Puttanesca Tomatoes.

And, in first place in overall scoring is Anita at Dessert First with Fig and Huckleberry Tart.

Andrew, of DMBLGIT fame, also allows the host to give awards. So, I would like to give recognition to a few entries that really appealed to me.
I adored these Lime-Raspberry Petits Fours Glaces from Jen Yu at Use Real Butter.

Jen’s Baked Gnocchi from Milk and Cookies made my mouth water.

I loved the originality of Sweeney’s Cocktail from Anita at Married with Dinner. Attend the tale!

Lastly, Meeta’s figs from What’s for Lunch Honey are simply beautiful.

Congratulations to all the winners! I have enjoyed hosting this month’s edition of DMBLGIT and discovering so many food blogs and bloggers I didn’t know about before this event. And good luck to everyone in the next round!
