Chocolate Oatmeal Chippers

Chocolate Oatmeal Chippers
I have made this recipe many, many times, with nothing but rave reviews. It’s been some time since I whipped up a batch of these, but, recently, I dusted it off for a co-worker’s birthday.

In the past, I have always made these as cookies. For something different (and as a time saver), I made these into bars. They result was firmer, while still being chewy. If memory serves, I think that I like them better as cookies. But, when you’re wanting to get something in the oven quickly, the bars are definitely the way to go.

This is a really simple, quick recipe that has proven to be one I can go to time and time again. They were quite well-received at work. So much so, actually, that someone commented that they were the best things she has ever eaten. I don’t know if I would go that far, but they are definitely delicious.

Of course, I used pecans for the nuts, but I think macadamias or hazelnuts would also work very well. The recipe can be found at Nestle’s website.

Those look awesome – I bookmarked the page to print it later! I’m out of blogging commission for a few weeks, but maybe I’ll come back strong with these myself in October!

Hi, I made these last night, as bars. I cut the recipe in half and it came out a little thin, maybe misjudged the amounts in splitting the 1 3/4 cups of oats or 1 1/4 cup of flour… but, despite that, they came out really good. I cooked them in a 9 x 9 square pan for about 20 minutes.
Thanks for the great recipe. My kids don’t like oats (but I do) and they didn’t even notice them…

It’s working for me, ohh. Maybe it was just down temporarily.
