A slight deviation from my norm, these bars don’t require baking. Reading through the recipe, I thought these sounded like a sure Quinn-pleaser. Chocolate, peanut butter, nuts, marshmallows, Rice Krispies… actually it sounded pretty good to me, too.
My version of these bars have pecans, since I realized too late that I had no peanuts. Also, I omitted the frosting because I thought they were just fine without it.
These were a breeze to make. Essentially, melt everything in the microwave, stir, spread in pan, refrigerate, and eat. They’re not going to be winning any baking awards any time soon, but they’re a good thing to whip up for a quick treat.

Let me point out that these were, in fact, a Quinn-pleaser! When I watched Jennifer whip these up, it was a little like riding a time machine back to my youth where many a Rice Krispies treat was crafted. Many of the ingredients are common between the two.
These are nothing like RKTs, though. They remain soft and chewy, have a lower Krispies density, and, well, chocolate.. need I type more? I just thought you all might appreciate my completely objective comments.

It’s like a fancy rice krispies treat. I love rise krispy squares, but I’ve always thought they could use some chocolate. And peanutbutter and nuts couldn’t hurt. Sounds good to me!

Mmm, these look so much better than the rice-krispy-copha monstrosities I remember from my childhood! Now why can’t I have had these instead?
